Isle of Palms Coconuts Social Club ...Minutes for 09-07
Several things to announce:
The inaugrual Isle of Palms ladies lunch will be at Palmer Legends CC Friday 9/28. The ladies will be meeting for lunch in the Oak Room at 12:30pm with individual checks. Please RSVP to Nancy by 9/24 by eMail or Phone.
We have made arrangement to use the card room at the Bacall Rec center on Thursday 6/20 at 6:30pm. The ladies may play hand and foot and the guys can play poker, texas holdem or what ever. Bring your cards and snacks and the beverage of your choice.
Barbara Enny thanks a bunch for the donation of 5 LRC games to the club, we had a ball playing and were a bit roudy at times. Below are the minutes of the September meeting submitted by Sylvia LeBlanc.
Pete Schinella opened our September meeting by welcoming our newbies Gary and Debbie Search from PA and Tom and Elen Cook from NJ. WELCOME – we’re glad you’re here. The new Bacall director, Travis, was instrumental in obtaining an American flag for the meeting room. All recited the Pledge of Allegiance and observed a moment of silence in honor of our fellow Americans that perished on 9/11/01. Nancy asked for a volunteer to chair the November social. Please share your talents. Pat and Ron Newman are working on Mixed Golf. Sign-up sheets for golf are available. Elaine and Carole will chair the October meeting. Elaine advised that it would be a Halloween themed event and requested everyone bring snacks. Barbara Enny explained that a web page for our social club had been established. Nancy advised that the Largo Ladies were holding a pot luck lunch from 12:30 – 3:00 PM at Bacall on Thursday, 9-13. She will be sending an Email with a date and time for a Coconut ladies’luncheon to be held at Arnold Palmer. Betty and Ray will discuss the December social at the next meeting. Nancy asked for a show of hands from the ladies interested in playing "Hand and Foot" at 6:30. She will check on the availability of the card room. Pete suggested a poker game for the guys. Pete asked if anyone was having a problem receiving his Emails and for anyone who needs to be added to the distribution list. Barbara Enny explained the rules for playing "LCR". Everyone enjoyed the dice game -- judging from the whoops and shouts -- and the snacks for sharing were yummy.
PS Our next meeting will be on 10/10 at Bacall. Be there or be square.
